FINALLY — Tim Ferriss TV is here, plus Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Glitch Mob

[PLEASE NOTE: This contest has ended per the rules explained below. Thanks!]

I cannot put into words how excited I am to write this post. Perhaps it’s because I’ve had 3 glasses of wine, or perhaps it’s the glee of F bombs below.

But no.

It’s because I have a huge TV announcement, an opportunity to get a personalized video from Arnold Schwarzenegger (seriously), and much more.

Short and sweet — I FINALLY got digital rights to my TV show, The Tim Ferriss Experiment. It’s about how to conquer fear in any skill and 10x your learning speed. Think of it as Mythbusters meets Jason Bourne. Filmed and edited by the Emmy award-winning team behind Anthony Bourdain (Zero Point Zero).

It took eons of negotiating and lawyering, but I got digital rights for you guys, at long last.

This is my most important project of the last three years. It literally took blood, sweat, and tears. You’ll see my horrible injuries when you watch the show. In the parkour episode alone, I tore both ACLs, 6 of my 8 total quadriceps muscles (both legs), my rotator cuff muscles, and all the flexors in one forearm.

If you’ve gotten any value from me over the years, could you please buy the season pass for this fuckin’ show? 🙂 Click here to get 13 episodes for next to nothing. It’s cinematic, insane, and won’t disappoint. Here is all the craziness, including a free preview. In a nutshell:

Bestselling author Tim Ferriss (“The world’s best human guinea pig.” – Newsweek) pushes himself to the breaking point, attempting to learn notoriously punishing skills–surfing, professional poker, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, parkour, languages, etc.–in just one week each.

In every episode of The Tim Ferriss Experiment, Ferriss partners with the world’s best and most unorthodox teachers (Laird Hamilton, Marcelo Garcia, Stewart Copeland, etc.), who train him for a final gauntlet. Shocking breakthroughs, injuries, epiphanies, and disasters ensue. In cases where he succeeds, Tim shows you how to replicate his results. The mantra of the show is “you don’t need to be superhuman to get superhuman results…you just need a better toolkit.”

I’m too tired to hide my Long Island pedigree, so… please just buy this season pass here. You’ll fucking love it.

A few things to sweeten the pot…

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Glitch Mob Craziness

I don’t half-ass launches. I go whole ass. Perhaps even 110% ass. So here’s the deal:

I want EVERYONE to see this show. I’m super proud of it, and your support means the world to me. 2nd place is 1st loser in my mind, so I’m going all out.

To the person who promotes the show best (details below), I’m giving away two priceless prizes, both from icons:

1) You’ll get a personalized motivational video from the Terminator, the man who killed the Predator (for God’s sake, people!) — Arnold Schwarzenegger. If you want to slay dragons and become superhuman, Arnie can motivate you like no one else. He’ll record a video to psyche you to greatness.

2) You’ll get a custom “anthem” from one of the biggest electronic music groups in the world — The Glitch Mob! Band members Boreta and Ooah will create ~30 seconds of awesomeness, a worldwide original just for you. Use it to get amped to do incredible things. Listen to it every morning, listen to it when you need to kick ass, listen to it before workouts or whenever you need extra juice. No one can buy this.

Are you fucking kidding me? No, I am not. The above two are real.

And you can feel good about promoting and buying the show, as 25% of all launch week profits for the TV show go to After-School All-Stars, which supports after-school programs for at-risk youth who need mentors. They do amazing work, and I recognize how a few mentors steered me from disaster early in my life. I want everyone to have that opportunity.

So… how do you win these bonzo garbanzo bonuses?

1) Promote the hell out of The Tim Ferriss Experiment this week, driving clicks to the iTunes page: itunes.com/timferriss  Here’s one step to get you started.

2) Leave a comment on this post telling me what you did (including anything quantifiable), no later than this Sunday, May 3rd 2015, at 10pm PT. Comments must be submitted by 10pm PT. It’s OK if they’re in moderation and don’t appear live before 10pm. Note: You must include “#TFX” at the TOP of your comment to be considered! This is an IQ test on following directions.

3) By May 10th, I and my panel of magic elves will select the winner: he or she who describes in their comment how they drove the most downloads/listens. If you drive people to buy season passes, you get major bonus points.

4) That’s it! Remember: Deadline is 10pm PT on May 3rd. No extensions and no excuses.

5) Of course, void where prohibited, no purchase required, you must be over 21, no minotaurs, etc.

But That’s Not All… (Cue Rotisserie Chicken)

If you simply buy the season pass, you can get a bunch of awesome stuff. Put another way, if you spend $14.99 USD, you get more than $200 in bonuses.  Here are the deets:

Important note #1: This only applies to people within the United States, or in US territories. Alas, I could only get rights for the US, so this is only available to residents of the US and US territories for now.  The network wouldn’t give me international rights, but I spent a small fortune trying.  I’ll keep trying.

Important note #2: Most of these prizes will be delivered by May 10th. You’ll receive confirmation and a remind about all of this, but when you purchase and submit proof of purchase, please be patient.

1) If you buy the full season pass of the Tim Ferriss Experiment, you will receive all of the below prizes.

2) When you purchase the full season (remember, single episodes don’t count), you’ll be sent goodies including:

CreativeLive: A $50 free credit + course from Neil Strauss on the creative process

CreativeLive is an online learning platform that broadcasts live, high-definition classes to more than 2 million students in 200 countries. The classes are amazing. Teachers include Pulitzer Prize winners, business luminaries, and more.  Neil Strauss, author of The Game, was one of my teachers for the “Dating Game” episode of The Tim Ferriss Experiment.

90-day free trial + a $200 coupon for WebinarJam

If you run any type of online business, WebinarJam Studio is a vital tool for entrepreneurs, which allows you to reach an unlimited number of people. The service is turnkey in terms of creating better conversions, allowing you to upload to YouTube, and integrate with your email list.

The Tim Ferriss Show Transcripts

It’s taken a long time, but I finally have transcripts from my “Best of iTunes 2014” podcast. Not just that, but I’ve put them together into a pretty e-book PDF of 600+ pages. These are never-before-released transcripts of 25 of the most popular episodes of The Tim Ferriss Show, including episodes featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Triple H, Jon Favreau and more.

ChefSteps: Free high-def cooking classes (don’t ignore this)

This was an invaluable resource for me when I was writing and research The 4-Hour Chef. ChefSteps is a James Beard Award–winning team of chefs, filmmakers, designers, writers, and scientists on a mission to help people cook smarter. ChefSteps.com and its companion app are designed to inspire creativity in the kitchen through high-quality interactive content, classes, tools, and resources that will inspire and educate cooks at any skill level.

[REMINDER: This contest is now over per the rules above. Thanks!]

And that’s the whole story!

Still wondering what I’m talking about?  Here you go.

I hope you love watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Much love and high fives from California,

Timbo

The Tim Ferriss Show is one of the most popular podcasts in the world with more than one billion downloads. 1. I bought it myself! Watched the first 3 episodes so far and love them all. Thanks, as always, for the great content.

2. I joined the Thunderclap with Twitter and FB.

3. I posted twice on Twitter, reaching only a humble 102 people, but still a targeted audience.

4. I shared it with friends on FB.

5. I reminded my brother to purchase and he got the season pass.

6. While it’s not yet completed, I am writing a SXSW highlight post on Medium which mentions your talk and links to the TFX show!

So far, 2 definite season pass purchases, a few hundred people who saw it, and a whole bunch more impressions coming in the near future.

Always excited to help share you content!

Posted in Spartan Education fb group (~5000 members) dedicated to ‘obstacles for education’ highlighting it as a show about ‘extreme learning’, potential great clips for teachers to use in class or leave an episode for a sub to watch with the class. Also twitter and shared on friends’ social media feeds.

When I saw the announcement in my inbox-newsletter that The Tim Ferriss Experiment was available a huge smile came over my face because learning is my favorite thing. Watching Tim absorb info, process it, and then give us a strategic and calculated formula to reproduce our own outcomes VIA video is the greatest thing since sliced sprouted grain bread.

I saw the rules to this contest on the evening of April 28th and began playing immediately. I wrote and scheduled 51 tweets to roll out over the course of the following 5 days using the TakeOff app from CrowdFire. I spaced them out in 1-2 hour increments so that I may stay on the top of my followers minds. I drove clicks to the iTunes page and the blog post to gain #TFX fans as well as new TF fans.

I got 8 favorites including one from The Glitch Mob themselves as well as a retweet from ChefSteps. I promoted everyone sponsoring this promotion as well as the show itself.

Each of my tweets were also posted on my FaceBook TimeLine which almost doubles the exposure of each micro-promotion.

I don’t have fancy analytics to share but I did put careful thought and personal flare into each mention. I had fun doing it too.

I have made it my mission this year to take steps into that awkward place outside of the comfort zone where I get the chance to make a fool of myself or become more of who I really am. Probably a bit of both. Having a personal message of power from Schwarzenegger would not only keep this fire burning when times are toughest but will also remind me of my tough and unrelenting German mother. She’s the hardest working woman I know and she does it all for the betterment of her family and community. Her dedication inspires me. I’d ask Arnold to speak a few words in her native tongue to keep me working harder for all I want. Learning German is one of my goals this year. It would become a two-fold reward! And a personal anthem from The Glitch Mob would push me through those last miles and sets when I want to quit. They’ll remind me why I started this transformative segment of my life and give me renewed strength.

I don’t just want these prizes. I deserve them. Love the work you and your team are doing Tim. Thanks for helping me #LearnBetter.

I bought SD before I read Tim’s post saying to buy HD to be eligible for bonus material. It was only a few dollars difference, I just bought it as soon as I saw it on iTunes! (SD vs HD makes no difference to me when viewing on phone) Does anyone know if I am not eligible if I did not get the HD version? Has anyone received bonus content yet?

#TFX I shared on FB about how I bought and love the show, and encouraged others to do so. Seeing this with less than half an hour left, I didn’t have time for an all-out fancy marketing plan, I brute forced it with a testimonial, which everyone on my FB knows I only promote things I believe in and do so very rarely, so it has much more impact when I do.

My approach was to share and support via social media (as always) and the age old “word of mouth” method. There will be a #TFX marathon sometime soon!

As a walking Tim Ferriss success story I thank you for enlightening me to the lifestyle I now have. I share everything you do and will continue to do so. Did not win the shopify contest but will meet you someday. Cheers!

pS – thanks for the intro to Glitch Mob. Best work focus music EVER!

Hi Tim,

I’m glad to see you have a www audience. Here are my tips to increase your exposure beyond your regular number of followers:

1. I had the chance to announce on Meerkat that you were on the GaryVee’s show to get around 600 ppl tuning in. It was amazing to see how easily Gary records his show and that you were on the phone with him that day.

2. Use a popular #hashtag related to your industry to amplify your voice. As a photography aficionado I used my favorite hashtag of the weekend on instagram the WHP (weekend hashtag project). There were over 25,000 posts this weekend from people all over the globe that got to see your post by adding the #whpemojisinthewild. There is no weekend I don’t find someone new checking my images thanks to this approach in my attempt to grow my community very organically around the things I like and enjoy.

If I don’t win, I hope you find this information useful. It’s all about diversifying. I can’t wait to watch the remaining episodes of the TFX! XOXO

Salutations,

Timbo, Thank you. I really appreciate all the work you have done.

You gave me the cheat codes to better health and efficient living that I continue to practice everyday. I am a living testament to your research and information, although I cannot drive clicks to your page through expensive online advertisements, my words are honest and free for you to use on any platform of your choosing. I created a 1:30 video showcasing my 4-hour body, mentioned how I created my business on a 4-hour work week, concluding in my kitchen as a 4-hour Chef and asking everyone to download Season 1 of the Tim Ferriss Experiment.

After completing the video,

I took my “Watch the Tim Ferris Experiment” poster board and marketed your TV series the old fashion way…

I went out to my local:

Target

Walmart

Home Depot

Auto Zone

AM/PM Gas station

And even stood in the middle of the street.

(Pictures are on my blog)

Tomorrow, once my damn video is finished uploading to YouTube, I will be doing a media blast on my personal and business:

Facebook

Instagram

Twitter

Pinterest

Google +

Indeed

Youtube

Targeting influential Tim Ferriss fans above and beyond my existing network.

At the very least, please enjoy the video.

I hope you sell the shit out of those season passes.

I recall buying or at least viewing the first couple episodes of TFE a while back on Amazon Instant Video. When I search for it now, it’s nowhere to be found, and neither are the new episodes. Any info for those of us who use Amazon Instant?

I would definitely not recommend that people outside of the US use a 5 minute hack to make their devices appear US based, in order to get access to this content, which has basically been teased for so long I just want to get it over with.

And I definitely wouldn’t recommend they follow the advise of world class Internet security geeks to do it.

And finally, I wouldn’t point them here: http://securethoughts.com/how-to-watch-netflix-outside-the-usa/

I promoted the liven’ K’wrap out of this show. I’m likely responsible for between 1-3000 downloads. It is not really quantifiable based solely on how many I hope bought the program based on my recommendation. I Thunderclaped this Beatch for you, I tweeted and RT so much the number of birds in my feeder even quadrupled, not to mention all my shares on my massive FB following! I told friends about this, I dragged co-workers to my computer to download the thing. So pretty much next to Arnold, you, and me I think we wrapped this baby up tight!

Hey, I just saw your facebook post regarding this being on sale in iTunes and I can’t find it now – is it pulled? you did say something about last day to get it.

You hit a whole wack of the things that I have wanted to do – (less parkour and more Helicopter pilot maybe) – but I have been following OnPoint and their Urban Escape and Evasion for a couple of years now. Of course, I’m 46 but still, those look like a blast and I still plan on doing them.

Would love to pick up your show.

I’ve really been enjoying the show so far. I’ve watched 3 or 4 episodes now. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased something on itunes before, but I thought it was the least support I could show for all the podcasts I’ve been digesting for free.

Since you finally have rights to your show and it seems to paying off, have you given any thoughts to self-producing a second season? I think the skeleton of this show has great potential when you remove the constraints set by television time slots and network executives.

Tim, I bought the season pass – for the second time! I’m glad this is finally out. I was bummed when it didn’t happen last year on the first go around.

I’ve listened to several of your podcast interviews around this launch and multiple times you have mentioned an episode where Josh Waitkins teaches you chess. I didn’t get that episode in my season pass. Is that coming later?

Tim,

Funny story. Bought all the single episodes on Amazon have been waiting to see when the next episode will come out. Saw it on iTunes last night and binged watched the next day! Haven’t read you blog in a while, but after watching I needed more so I checked it out and I see this article. Great show! Wish there were more. The prizes look great, but after reading and listening to your books over and over I think I have gotten more then my moneys worth. Wish you all the best, and really hope that you continue to pursue similar projects in TV. I know it has been a rough road. Thanks for keeping me entertained and teaching me how to read my accounting book 10x faster.

All the best,

Travis

The wufoo link is gone, but there are people on here (myself included) that ordered the season pass well before the bonuses (the Neil Strauss/Creative Live, etc section) were over. The link went private way too early and the wording did not mention at all there was a deadline before the 10th on that section of bonuses.

Could you please open up the link to the people that have ordered before the 10th?

Firstly, congrats on bringing this labor of love this far. I know there are regional/platform hurdles and endless red tape, but you’ve made a huge impact with this US release.

My question is about the promotional extras as a bonus to purchasing the season in its entirety.

I was just speaking with my friend who also bought the season, and he shared with me that his Scribd promo code was not working. Meanwhile, I had not done the necessary steps yet to gain access to the generous extras (transcripts, Scribd trial, etc.), and was met with the following error when accessing https://4hb.wufoo.com/forms/k1gnz9mu1t89sn3/: “This form is currently private and cannot be viewed by the public.”

If there was a deadline to redeem these extras, it was not clearly stated in this blog post/accompanying email or in the redemption directions. The final step 4 states: “You’ll receive the transcripts from The Tim Ferriss Show soon thereafter, and then prizes will follow before or on May 10th.” That verbiage does not a deadline make. Promotional periods need a clear timeline stated. I don’t think up to one month after purchase is unreasonable, or at least one month from the initial offering; I purchased the same evening this was posted.

What can I do at this point to rectify this situation? Both for myself and my friend.

Thanks,

T

Long-time fan, first-time commenter. I’ve seen the show, and I have a suggestion for how it might be more compelling to a larger audience. For season two, rather than focusing on your ability to learn new tasks, take your knowledge of meta-learning and assist a curated group to learn new skills. I think everyone already knows that you learn things quickly. No one’s surprised that you can pick up poker in a week. But if you could help others (and perhaps some who have less self confidence) achieve the same goals in similar time, that would drive the message home in a powerful way. Try it, and I’ll bet you $2.17 the show will have a greater impact.

Best of luck!

Hey Tim, loving the show. Hate to bother you with this, but I bought the season pass when you first wrote this post and I have yet to receive any of my bonuses. I can only imagine how busy you are, but is there any timeline I can expect? It’s been around three months.

Still no bonuses, and no reply to any inquiry. Trying to be understanding, but it’s been near four months and at least a response to when they’re coming out would be nice.

Still. Haven’t. Got. The bonuses. What the Effff, man?! Come on Tim, outsource some customer service to the Philippines. it’s very affordable. What is the customer service email? Is there one? Just send the bonuses Tim’s assistant I know you’re reading this. Should I email Tim@fourhourworkweek.com? Will that work?
