This episode is brought to you by Momentous high-quality creatine! I’ve long benefitted from creatine for athletic and gym performance, and now I’m increasing my daily intake to enjoy the cognitive benefits. A pilot study in Alzheimer’s patients demonstrated that supplementing can increase brain creatine levels in just 8 weeks, improving measures of memory, reasoning, and attention. And a double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that creatine can restore aspects of memory and attention within hours in adults who are sleep deprived. I use Momentous Creatine made with Creapure®, which is sourced from Germany and has the strictest lab standards to ensure it’s at least 99.9% pure. And try Momentous’s Creatine Chews—clean chewable tablets with 1 gram of Creapure® creatine per chew—and their whey protein isolate and magnesium threonate, all of which meet their same, exacting standards. Hi Tim! Random Show is always among my favorites!! Thank you for doing this! I’ve been a long-time listener and look forward to every Thursday when new episode is released.
If I may, I have two guest suggestions that I think would resonate deeply with your audience:

  1. Simon Sinek – He gave a phenomenal interview recently on the DOAC podcast, touching on themes like the art of kintsugi—the idea that things can become more beautiful after being broken (1h:38min + 2 min). Also on listening to each other and fining common ground, community, etc. His message feels especially timely and powerful.
  2. Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook – The brilliant minds behind The Rest Is History podcast. They make history engaging, funny, and surprisingly relevant to today’s world. I truly believe the world would be a better place if more people spent time learning history and from it than endlessly scrolling social media. (some of my favorite episodes are: series on French Revolution, First and Second World War are real gems. I also enjoyed their recent series on Peter the Great and Great Northen War. Especially coming from Russia, I enjoyed the parts that we never learned from standard Russian’s books. It’s a pity Russians would never learn it. Because now it’s all heavily used in Putin’s propaganda.

Thank you for being you, Tim—and for sharing such thoughtful, curious, and uplifting conversations with the world.
Warmest regards,
Eugenia

Just love The Random Show episodes. You two are great together. Bought five copies of Coyote once I heard you two discuss it! These will be fun bday gifts this summer. Always enjoy an opportunity to support the things you have a hand in creating, Tim.

Tim! Because you gave Kevin a hard time about his pronunciation of “eXpresso,” and turnabout is fair play… Dashi is packaged in sachets, pronounced sash-ay. Sachet does not rhyme with hatchet.

Isolation created introspection.
Introspection created clarity.
Clarity created Cognography.

Absolutely loved this episode! The interaction between Tim and Rick is priceless. I learned a lot, laughed a bit, and even ordered a few of the recommendations (including copies of “Awareness” for myself and my 2 sons and Profi for upcoming international travel). Definitely time well spent.

Hi Tim!

My name is Saxon, I am a wildlife filmmaker. I make films on the untold stories of the natural world. I just finished making a film about a wild tortoise of the mighty Ustyurt Plateau in remote Kazakhstan.

I recently saw your call for PR ideas for Coyote on LinkedIn – and in a flash something came to me!

I have sent you over a message on LinkedIn and Instagram with a fun, high impact, and ‘of genuine value to the world’ PR concept.

I am really excited to hear your thoughts!

My very best wishes,

Saxon

Coyote

A card game by Tim Ferriss and Exploding Kittens

COYOTE is an addictive card game of hilarity, high-fives, and havoc! Learn it in minutes, and each game lasts around 10 minutes.

For ages 10 and up (though I’ve seen six-year olds play) and three or more players, think of it as group rock, paper, scissors with many surprise twists, including the ability to sabotage other players. Viral videos of COYOTE have been watched more than 250 million times, and it’s just getting started.

Unleash your trickster spirit with a game that’s simple to learn, hard to master, and delightfully different every time you play. May the wit and wiles be with you!

Keep exploring.
