Free $1,000 Travelocity Voucher and $10,000 Spots to Kimono

(Photo: Royce Bair)

Hello lads and lasses. This post is intended as a morsel, a sugar high and respite. Life is serious enough, so this post will require zero calories of brain power.

Not to worry, of course, as we’ll be back to our regular content with the next how-to post.

In the meantime, some goodies: the “Kimono” winners and a $1,000 travel voucher giveaway.

KIMONO SPOTS

Congratulations, after much tallying and consideration, to the winners of the $10,000 spots to the “Opening the Kimono” event! Please keep an eye on your inbox for follow-up details:

– Sheila McCarthy (votes)

– Jacqueline Biggs (“wild card” views)

First, sincere thanks to all who submitted video case studies, even those who re-submitted old videos and therefore weren’t eligible. Second, HUGE thanks to Dustin “America’s Trainer to the Moms” Maher for making the “wild card” scholarship possible — you rock!

Three honorable mentions for the “wild card” seat are below (out of dozens of great videos), and one includes a pic of me drunk at my London book launch. Oh, Internet, you hurt so good T_T

Two of them highlight post-4-Hour Workweek (now 2,172 reviews!) travel adventures:

$1,000 TRAVELOCITY TRAVEL VOUCHER — GIVEAWAY DETAILS

Alright, moving on…

I wanted to have some fun and get people traveling. “But I can’t travel… it costs too much!” is a common refrain. Partnering with a new start-up called PunchTab, I wanted to remove this barrier.

Here’s how it will work, as PunchTab explains:

Entering the giveaway is simple and takes only 30 seconds. Register by connecting to the giveaway widget below using Facebook. For each step you complete, you’ll earn a giveaway entry:

1. Like this blog post by clicking on the Facebook Like button (+1 entry).

2. Become a fan of Tim Ferriss on Facebook (+1 entry).

3. Leave a comment telling me where you’ll go and what you’ll do there (+1 entry).

4. Tweet about the giveaway (+1 entry).

5. Unlimited bonus entries by pasting your invite link everywhere you can. For example:

– For every friend who clicks the invite link you Tweeted in step 4, you’ll earn +1 entries.

– For every friend who then joins the giveaway, you’ll earn +5 entries.

Giveaway ends June 30, 2011 at midnight PST. Open to residents of North America.

Enjoy! Attack! Discuss!

Travel voucher would be used to travel to ANTARCTICA via Chile and to achieve personal goal of visiting all Seven Continents.

Would take and wear for photos Tevas that have been to all other continents, including first time I left the country to backpack Europe 12 years ago. 🙂

I would continue on as I always do…dreaming big and following through. The plans that are in motion that this would assist with would be: going to Australia to discover the true meaning of partnership and surrendering to vulnerability, Spiritual venture in Bali, business venture/ sailing the Med. (again) in Spain… for starters… 🙂 would trade the $ money for a coffee with Tim any day…Spain or Bali Tim?

Hi Tim. If I am the lucky winner, I will use it to visit my husband-to-be in Peru when he graduates from the university and we will make sure to celebrate right! 🙂 We will visit the Magic Fountains (Circuito Mágico del Agua) in Lima; my favorite town, Moquegua; and everything in-between!

Wow. Those videos were exactly the shot in the arm that I needed at this moment. Just quit the job back in January to start my own 4HWW and right now I’m stuck in the plateau of despair. Keep grinding away though.

If I win the contest I will probably give my ticket to my mother. She just beat breast cancer at the age of 46 and she has always wanted to go to the UK and see all royal family digs. So, I’ll give her the ticket and take her to see all that is the royal palace. Kinda cheesy but if it is what you want it is what you want. Excellent post. Truly, this was just what I needed to get back in the saddle. Thanks Tim. I can’t thank you enough.

Re: Where I’d go for the $1,000 TRAVELOCITY TRAVEL VOUCHER…While I absolutely love to travel anywhere, I would do just the opposite with it: I would use it as a scholarship to help someone from another, lesser developed country come visit the United States to broaden their experience of the world and further their education. I would host them and make it a great cultural exchange. … Thanks for this opportunity Tim and thank you for constantly pushing all of us to think differently and to improve the world, our lives, and the lives of those around us. cheers!

I’ve seen a lot of Asia and Europe so I’m thinking Egypt and Dubai? I don’t know anyone who can say they have wakeboarded on the Nile so if there is a safe enough part, I’m game. I’ve always wanted to see the pyramids and maybe check out the indoor snowboarding in dubai.

Brazil could be next as well. Start in the South, find a few supermodelesque girls then head to the beaches around Salvador…maybe wakeboard on the Amazon while I’m there ; )

I’m co-founding a startup in Vietnam and will be working over there most of this fall, based in Ho Chi Minh City. If I win the Travelocity voucher, I would use it to see the country. I’d take short trips all over Vietnam and Cambodia. I’d see the Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc Island, Angkor Wat, Sapa, Hoi An, Halong Bay, Hanoi, and Danang. And while I was at it, I’d drink snake-blood wine, ride an elephant, DJ at a club, get a massage, sleep over with a family of villagers, and generally speaking, rock the house.

I would love to use this gift to go with my Girlfriend to Scotland to Hike the Western Coastal and Highland trails. Starting the planning and dreaming phases already so this would be a HUGE boost in the process.

I Hope all is well with you.

Does anyone know someone with this and if there is something that could help her? I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can shine more light on this for us. Thanks alot, Ben
