Hello lads and lasses. This post is intended as a morsel, a sugar high and respite. Life is serious enough, so this post will require zero calories of brain power.
Not to worry, of course, as we’ll be back to our regular content with the next how-to post.
In the meantime, some goodies: the “Kimono” winners and a $1,000 travel voucher giveaway.
KIMONO SPOTS
Congratulations, after much tallying and consideration, to the winners of the $10,000 spots to the “Opening the Kimono” event! Please keep an eye on your inbox for follow-up details:
– Sheila McCarthy (votes)
– Jacqueline Biggs (“wild card” views)
First, sincere thanks to all who submitted video case studies, even those who re-submitted old videos and therefore weren’t eligible. Second, HUGE thanks to Dustin “America’s Trainer to the Moms” Maher for making the “wild card” scholarship possible — you rock!
Three honorable mentions for the “wild card” seat are below (out of dozens of great videos), and one includes a pic of me drunk at my London book launch. Oh, Internet, you hurt so good T_T
Two of them highlight post-4-Hour Workweek (now 2,172 reviews!) travel adventures:

3. Leave a comment telling me where you’ll go and what you’ll do there (+1 entry).

My wife and I are planning to tour Europe in October of 2012 as our last official big-time vacation with just the two of us before we start having kids. We would most definitely take that voucher and use it to help pay for that dream trip!
Thanks Tim!
If (or should I say when?!) I win the travelocity voucher I’ll fly to Costa Rica for some surfing and snorkeling fun or take a Caribbean holiday for the same. 🙂
Lara

Thanks for the opportunity Tim!
I am planning a yearlong cross-hemisphere trip between undergrad and law school, in the spirit of vagabonding, and this would definitely help out if I win.
Thanks again!
I have a long laundry list of places I want to go, but if I had to pick the next one on my list it would be Israel (below that is Thailand, India, and Jamaica).
Oh, and for activities, we would definitely go sight seeing and do the touristy stuff. I would probably try to sneak in some networking while I’m there (Israel is known as the “Startup Nation” and I’m working on getting a tech startup going)!
I plan on going hiking and exploring in Iceland.
Hey Tim,
I’m a student working in Haiti for the summer. I would use the $1,000 to travel to London to surprise my girlfriend (who is living there temporarily) for a lil R&R when I get back home in August. Then I would make a bomb youtube video hyping you and travelocity for hooking me up!
-Max
I’d go to Argentina. Great mix of the big city in BA and the raw beauty of regions like Patagonia.
I’ll take my fiance to Ireland and explore my family’s homeland!

I would take my wonderful wife to Napa Valley, then to Hawaii!
I will take my wife to visit Brazil – Rio De Janeiro.

I’d go to China to visit the motherland, hop over to South Korea and Japan for some culture shock, and fly back with a stop over Hawaii for R&R.
I would go to the north coast of Spain (Santander) and stay at the Hotel Real.
Japan is currently tops on my list of next places to go. See; meet; eat.
I’d go to Greece to finally meet my childhood penpal, with whom I recently reconnected on Facebook.
Hmmm. Liked and tweeted, but not getting credit for it; can you help me!
Hi Dodie, can you please email us at support@punchtab.com and we’ll take a look?
If I win, my husband and I will go to the mountains of Leh and Ladakh in India. We will rent a motorcycle in Delhi and then ride it all the way up into the snowy mountains.
I’ll go to Hawaii to see an active lava flow, always been a dream of mine!
Norway – to see some old friends I haven’t seen in years!
to bali and live with the natives for 2 weeks to experience a different perspective of life
My boyfriend and I will be using the Travelocity voucher to fly to California and take the drive up Pacific Coast highway, capturing gorgeous pictures all along the way. It’s something we’ve always wanted to do, so I hope we’ll get the opportunity from you!
If you win where will you go and what will you do there?
I would travel to Japan – I have dreamed many times of flying over Tokyo, seeing the city from out of the airplane, and crying tears of joy.
I have always loved Japan, Japanese Culture, and it’s language. Deep down in a way I could never explain. I have always dreamed of travelling there to see the country and the temples and hopefully discover the connection I feel I have with it.
I would meet people, speak as much with people as I can and learn about their lives. I would hope to find a way to connect what I do and love with people there in some way. Maybe I would find a way to help others in a way I don’t know how yet.
Best of luck to all,
Kristi
I’ve never been to New York City, so that’s pretty high on my list of places to go.
If I was lucky enough to win this thing, I’d definitely have to fully embrace what it means to be a tourist and take in ALL of NYC : )
I would use the voucher to take a trip to St. Thomas where I am interested in re-locating to and changing my life drastically!
Thanks for the opportunity!!
I would visit one of my closest friends that I met on my last random last minute trip/ adventure. She lives in Malta. Either meet in Malta or meet in Italy. She is amazing and living across an ocean when we don’t make much money means we won’t see each other very often.

I’d take my boys to the Florida Panhandle and do some offshore fishing — heaven!!!
Question, does part of this contest violate Facebook’s promotions giveaway rules?
“You must not use Facebook features or functionality as a promotion’s registration or entry mechanism. For example, the act of liking a Page or checking in to a Place cannot automatically register or enter a promotion participant. ”
https://www.facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php
I’d head to Antartica. Cause its there.
i want to go to Australia and live like the locals, tennis is the nation’s favorite sport so i want to be among people like that.
I would take my husband to Ireland. We would visit the Holt Castle and relatives he’s never met that may only be here a few more years. Oh yeah… do a pub tour!
If I win, I’m going to take my Honey, on a getaway without anyone else….we seem to always travel with others and never alone…maybe Vegas, maybe beach who knows!
I would go to see my brother in South Carolina with the family (another big 4HB fan) and have him teach me how to kite surf!
Win or no, I’ll be taking my family to Colombia. We’ll be spending a month or two applying the 80/20 principle to get my wife fluent in spanish and teaching our children to speak two languages.
i would go to india to study music! Their great history of melody and rhythm is unparalleled.
In September, I am heading to Iceland for what we call ‘The second annual bachelor party’ for a friend. Last year we did Oktoberfest in Munich.
In Iceland, I am planning on enjoying Reykjavik for a few days then heading into the interior – by mountain bike.
I would go to the Philippines and visit a friend of mine who has been working over there for the past year. Been promising to go before he returns home next fall….so this would be all kinds of awesome!
Awesome giveaway. Congrats to the Kimono winners – I’m so jealous!
If I won the giveaway I would use the travel voucher to send my husband home to Thailand to visit his very old grandmother. He was born there. Left in 1977, only been back twice and needs to see the rest of his family, especially his grandmother who raised him for the first 7 yrs of his life. Good luck to everyone entering. I love punchtab!
Not exactly sure where I would go… possibly Australia. Maybe somewhere in Europe. I want to take a vacation away from the US and experience somewhere I never have before so I can have the time of my life and take a million pictures.
i would try to go to as many different places as possible and couch surf so i could spend it all on flights.
I would love to go to Australia and New Zealand. I would snorkle the Great Barrier Reef and run the rapids in NZ. This has been a hope of mine for years!!
Thanks Tim for the opportunity and your book 4HB.
hi Tim– cool giveaway. If I win, I’d put the $1k voucher towards a romantic weekend with my boyfriend in the South Pacific… as for what I’d do, well, I’ll leave that to your imagination 🙂
I would use it to help get my parents on a vacation to either Cape Cod or Cape May – they’ve both been unbelievably stressed out, and really deserve a getaway.
I’d go to France and visit the beaches of Normandy.
Would take my wife and daughter back to Vietnam (where we adopted my daughter from)…..
Hmmm…I think first I’d go to Portland, then I’d go and see part of Canada 🙂
Does northern Mexico is considered as part of north america (geologists do, but I want to know if I can participate in the giveaway).
I would go to New Zealand… Completing one of my “dreamlines” to see one of the most beautiful places on earth….
Hmmm…where to go? Would definitely want to go somewhere warm (but not too hot like it is here in Texas – 100+). Maybe to one of the adventure tours. River rafting tour would be awesome. Someplace I haven’t been, doing something I’ve never done before.
I will go to Medellin, Colombia, and to Uruguay. Plan to do an intensive spanish course and look for a new place to live!
I’d like to go to Africa to visit our kids we sponsor through compassion international.
I would travel to Russia. There is an island monastery that I would like to visit. I would also like to find out more about my family history.
I’d take my wife somewhere far west of the Mississippi. Either LA, the Pacific Northwest or Hawaii depending on our mood.
I would go to the Yucatán Peninsula or somewhere similar to explore ruins.
If I win, I’ll go to Thailand and get my scuba diving liscence.
I would go to Israel to sightsee historical sights, sip coffee, meditate and pray.
Head to Greece and single-handedly boost the Greek economy by eating as much lamb, fish, cheese, and greek pastries as possible! Also maybe find Alexander the Greats tomb while I am there ; )
So many places to go in this world, so that’s hard, either use it towards a trip to go back to England to see my family and eat all the foods I miss. Or use it towards my Vegas trip in Feb!! Which would free up cash so that we could pay for one other family members ticket to go with us!
Thanks for letting us know that the rest of the world is excluded. If you had put that in the header, I wouldn’t have needed to open it.
I could have slogged on learning about: SEOs and affiliates, and how to get my blog started on a cheapskate budget and make it appear high-end; and how to outsource all this stuff and give the impression that I know what I’m talking about.
Well, I suppose I’d better get going then. I’ve got loads of work to do. Thanks, the rest of the world loves your stuff. 🙂
I would go to the Andalucia region of Spain and then head to Morocco. Sherry and tasty eats!
To Antarctica:
The last wilderness. Serenely frozen yet a maelstrom of storms. Buried Atlantis? The cold and white twists reality, morphing size, distance, shape and horizon. A rock looks like a faraway mountain. Pilots fly upside down without realizing it! Mummified animals look recently dead but are thousands of years old! A compass doesn’t know where to point and time stands still. What a glorious change from our over-scheduled lives.
I am a trekker off the beaten track. This would be a redefinition of reality, and a step to living my 4HWW life.
I would go to Multiple destinations in Asia (Thailand, Bali, Phillipines, Guam, Grajagan, Ubud…..ya know tropical places with amazing things to see). I would not have any plans. My life is structured enough. I just want to go where the world takes me and make it a point to learn a local custom every place I go.
July 4th is around the corner, I would visit our nations capital. while I am at it, swing by and see lady liberty.
The ‘dancing video’ is absolutely awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Tim,
Thanks for the shout out, I look forward to hanging out with you in Napa soon enough.
Take care,
Dustin
Darn, I wish I would have found out about PunchTab a few weeks ago! I could have definitely used their help with a giveaway we’re putting on right now. I searched for a giveaway management program and the only thing I could find was Wildfire and wasn’t really impressed with what they had to offer. Noted for future reference!
Congrats to Sheila and Jacqueline!
Off to enter the giveaway…!
Thanks Sheila! Good luck with PunchTab 🙂

I would take my husband and new baby and travel to Italy for a month, stay in the beautiful historic cities there, drink wine, eat gelato, get to know the people and speak only italiano the entire time.
I’d use the Travelocity credit toward buying a multi-leg airline ticket, starting in China to practice Chinese and then heading west through Central Asia along the old Silk Road.
I’m a professional chef working for a private family. I have never been to Europe and have the month of August off. I would love to travel through 3 countries, preferably spain, france and italy. Toledo spain is of great interest in particular for their knife and sword craftsman. Of course my main focus would be eating my way through each country.
thanks!
