The Tim Ferriss Book Club

After three #1 bestsellers, I finally pulled the trigger.

Starting in 2013, I began quietly buying rights to books that have changed my life. Why?

  • Since college, I’ve fantasized about somehow driving under-appreciated books into the limelight.
  • I was greatly influenced by books recommended by Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club (e.g. Love in the Time of Cholera), despite the fact that I wasn’t her demographic.
  • This blog’s community (~1.5M uniques/month) is incredible, and we REALLY like books (see comparison to TV and NYT Op-Ed impact). The idea of having tens of thousands of people read the same book each month, all interacting with one another and the author, is thrilling to me.

So, cutting to the chase — below are the books from The Tim Ferriss Book Club, with more to come. They are listed in chronological order, not magnitude of impact.

I hope you enjoy them all as much as I have!

#1 - The Tim Ferriss Book Club Launches — Book #1: Vagabonding

#2 - Daily Rituals — The Tim Ferriss Book Club, Book #2

#3 - The Art of Learning: The Tool of Choice for Top Athletes, Traders, and Creatives

#4 - The Obstacle Is The Way — The Tim Ferriss Book Club, Book #4

#5 - What I Learned Losing a Million Dollars

#6 - Lazy: A Manifesto

Please check out Tools of Titans, my latest book, which shares the tactics, routines, and habits of billionaires, icons, and world-class performers. It was distilled from more than 10,000 pages of notes, and everything has been vetted and tested in my own life in some fashion. The tips and tricks in Tools of Titans changed my life, and I hope the same for you. Click here for sample chapters, full details, and a Foreword from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  1. I just recently found your podcast and listened to 4 today on a long drive. The styles of interviewees varies but the content is always top notch.

I heard you mention this book club and since I’m a huge fan of your work I was curious which books have made an impact on you!

I’ve previously read #1 & #4 and look forward to the other ones I’ve missed. Keep up the great work!

  2. Hi Tim

In your podcasts you talk also a lot about meditation and how that positively influenced your life. Now in yhe introduction of this page you also mentiom Oprah Winfrey. So I was wondering if the book “the power of now” by Eckhart Tolle ever crossed your awareness.

This is definitely my number 1 book and a book I can recommend to everybody because it is a clear base for understanding your ego, the conceptual self we created in our mind. I believe that becomming aware of this ego, see when it tries to influence you negatively out of fear and than push forward to your goal despite of it, is essential for reaching the goals that your blog readers are aiming for.

So the question is if you read it and than the question is if you recommend it.

Oh and it would be awesome to do a podcast with Eckhart! ^^

  3. Tim I greatly enjoy and appreciate what you do – think you are helping so many people and it’s truly inspiring and impressive!

One thing I am struggling to understand- why did you have to buy rights to those books? It just sounds very self serving. Also not sure Why your book club has only books that you own rights to. What about others?

Don’t want to sound very critical but just trying to understand the background.

    Thank you
