Welcome to another episode of The Tim Ferriss Show, where it is my job to sit down with world-class performers of all different types—from startup founders and investors to chess champions to Olympic athletes. This episode, however, is an experiment and part of a shorter series I’m doing called “Books I’ve Loved.” I’ve invited some amazing past guests, close friends, and new faces to share their favorite books—the books that have influenced them, changed them, and transformed them for the better. I hope you pick up one or two new mentors—in the form of books—from this new series and apply the lessons in your own life.

Debbie Millman (@debbiemillman) has been named one of the most creative people in business by Fast Company and one of the most influential designers working today by Graphic Design USA. She is the host of Design Matters—a great show and one of the world’s longest running podcasts. She is also chair of the Masters in Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and editorial director of Print magazine.

Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Stitcher, Castbox, Google Podcasts, or on your favorite podcast platform.

I loved the Richard MacDonald video! Thank you for that–there was something profound and haunting about a man making a men and making a women- seemed like striving to be God.

Tim, I feel like Jane Fonda and you would make a phenomenal match. Can you bring her on? Listening to her book What Can I Do which is great, but your questions could give us even more insight into her beautiful and inspiring life. Thanks!

My plea and challenge to you: I know you focus on where you can make the most impact, I know that is is pschadelics at the moment. Can you make climate change your other key areas of focus and influence? It’s the biggest challenge facing the planet, It’s going to be the biggest trend in global economic change in the next decade which is also going to incorate huge opportunity. You influence could catalyse a major change here, please give this some serious thougt

If there is any way I can be of help here feel free to contact. I work as the deputy CIO for a firm investing on behalf of 50bn in UK pension funds and trying to figure out how to be part of the solution.

Tim, long long time listener. Please do David Goggins. I’m sure you’ve heard him but not one will ask the questions in depth and with piercing insight as The Ferris. Please. There’s no one quite like him that I’ve heard of and he’s straight up become the bible for self improvement. Much appreciated! -Ani

Hey Tim, I loved listening to this podcast. I’m a huge fan of personal development books and books that will help me with my business, so I’m going to check these out. I just bought a stack of 12 small personal development books to read over the next few months, which I’m pretty excited about. I’m always looking for new book recommendations. -Ryan
