Hi, Just wondering if someone can help – I am looking for the podcast where a teacher asks her students to write their dream/goals. I listened to it long time back but cannot remember it. Would love to listen to it again. Thanks for your help.

Please see the Debbie Millman interview at https://tim.blog/2017/01/12/how-to-design-a-life-debbie-millman/. The transcript for this interview is at https://tim.blog/2018/06/21/the-tim-ferriss-show-transcripts-debbie-millman/.

if only there was a search function for all transcripts…

Reply to  Jeff

Hi, Jeff –

You can try typing “transcripts” into the search field at the top of the blog, followed by the search term you’re looking for. So, say you wanted to look through all transcripts for “Viktor Frankl”; you would type in “transcripts” “viktor frankl” and hit enter.

You’ll see a number of results, many of which will be transcript links. Click on one, and then use your web browser search/find function to locate “viktor frankl” in the transcript page that loaded.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Are transcripts and “Show Notes” one in the same? Transcripts seems to be the term on the blog, can’t find “show notes” despite that terms routine use on the Podcast.

Team Tim Ferriss
Admin

Reply to  Don Carp

Hi, Don –

The transcripts are the typed copies of the recorded podcasts, which you’ll find above. The Show Notes are a kind of summary of the topics covered in each podcast and include timestamps so that you may find the different topics easily within the show’s recording. The Show Notes can always be found on the same page as each podcast. Once on the desired podcast page, simply scroll down far enough to find the heading “SHOW NOTES,” after which you’ll see the different topics covered. Show notes come after the media player but before the comments section.

Is there a way to see the timestamp at which some text in the transcript was spoken in the episode audio?

Team Tim Ferriss
Admin
Reply to  Adam Comella

Hi, Adam –

If you go to Tim’s YouTube page and find the video you want, you can click the three dots at the bottom-right of the video and choose to show the transcript. You can then find the passage you want and you’ll see the timestamp inside the YouTube video. Note, however, that timestamps on YouTube don’t always line up with timestamps on the blog, due to different editing for video and audio-only. You can also use the player embedded in the blog post to find the passage you want, but it could take longer. The timestamps in the player on the blog align with the timestamps in the Show Notes, which you can find further down the blog post page.

Tim – Thank you for sharing the transcripts of your podcasts; it will save your audience oodles of time when sharing impactful tidbits of information.

– Do you think your audience will grow as a result? Are you only measuring on downloads?

– Why did you choose now to transcribe all of the podcasts instead of as you released them or batching?

hey tim, it is very nice of you to post them. your fictional character (the construct i have of you) is an inspiration for me. i think you should interview Wael Ghonim @Ghonim ( at twitter). he is an entrepreneur, engineer, googler, and the starter (or one of the starters) of the Egyptian revolution. it would be an inspiration about disruption, using social media for the common good, and who he magically convinced millions of Egyptians to finally disrupt.

This must have been a headache to put together. But it is worth it because there are friends of mine whom I have been annoying for years to listen to your podcasts but they hate listening to podcasts and love reading.

So I’m pretty sure they will love these transcripts. They’ll finally get the opportunity to have their lives positively changed forever by this guy called Tim Ferriss whom I mention virtually in every conversation.

What an incredible gift you’ve given us, Tim. The podcasts themselves to start with, but to go to the trouble (not to mention expense) of having them all transcribed is truly above and beyond. Thank you. Sincerely.

Thank you! I prefer reading than listening. I absorb and retain printed text far better than audio. I’ve caught myself writing down the words I have heard on your podcast.

Arigato gozaimasu Timothy San. So much gold in these transcripts. I love all that you do. Being able to go back through and pick up on some of the details that I can’t write down sometimes (when I am listening while I garden for instance!). Oishi des. lol

Thanks for adding the transcripts! As an English teacher, I look for audio content for my students that has transcripts, so they can listen and use the transcripts to check what they don’t understand. This is a great learning resource for them to use to improve their English. It’s also great for you, as it’s an excellent way to help expand your audience to listeners who’s first language may not be English (like most of the people on the planet). Now that there are transcripts, I’ll be promoting your podcasts to English learner throughout the world!

Can you please put the latest podcast at the top, so I do not have to scroll to the bottom every time?

Hi, I recently finished Tribe of Mentors and Tools of Titans. I can’t tell you much I enjoyed the books. I also enjoy and find useful and entertaining the ” 5 bullet Friday”. Though what I want to thank you for mostly is your encouragement to try -at the very least – the “5 Minute Journal”. I’ve never been a consistent, if at all, journal writer-or have simply just told myself that in order not to engage. However, whatever it was in your endorsement of that activity hooked me and while as hard as it is for me to believe-in just week I’ve seen some very interesting changes-bear in mind not drastic life changing ( yet) but internally noticeable. Also it is interesting how many things I seem to be more aware of. What has amazed more than anything else has been my adherence to my ” commitment” to write in the journal, again only a week, but I believe it will become a habit.

Thanks so much and keep up the great work.

Any chance for a search function? It’s so often I want to dig up something valuable in an old interview to share it with others, and I can remember roughly what I’m looking for but simply can’t find the right interview.

Tim, love many things about this podcast, and learned a lot, but I believe your opinion about fairness is shaped by your position of privilege.

Dear Tim, I have listened to every one of your Podcasts. For many years the only podcast but now I have added Jordan Harbinger. You have kept me sane through an emotionally abusive marriage. When I couldn’t sleep for brain churn your talks were so interesting that my mind would be engaged. Additionally listening to reasonable, logical and sensible people has been affirming. Thank you so much for making the transcripts available they are truly an amazing resource. I have given Tools of Titans to my four children who appear to value the book. Tim you are quite an amazing young man. BTW it is so lovely hearing your thoughts on your relationship with your girlfriend. I felt so pleased that you had finally begun a long term relationship (a while ago now). Cheers Maggie

Can someone help me out? There is an old episode I’m trying to find. The guest was a woman who was some kind of consultant at one point and she had a billionaire client who hired her to help him with some legacy planning stuff who kind of blew her off but she got him to take her seriously and really helped him make better plans for his legacy. If that sounds familiar I’d love to find the episode again. Thanks.

Hi Tim,

Huge fan and thanks for the great job. Just a suggestion: If the episodes and/transcripts could be listed with most recent on top.

Good to hear that Peterson is back. I LOVED the fact that he provided some very compelling push back to some of your beliefs/comments. That rarely happens in your interviews, and you dealt with it surprisingly well. Congratulations.
