I love you guys geeking out…so cool

You should do TV show and sell it! – I’d watch it for sure! So much fun!

Loved a piece about Okinawa! Remember the same things from Blue Zones book and documentary.

Gaba Rice Tea – Try that Kevin! I love the taste! Green tea Gaba Rice tea. Genmaicha is cool too.

Japanese stuff, so cool! Loved it!

Very interesting stuff about wolves and humans and neanderthals, and symbiotic relationships.

Peeing with your dog? :))) Your neighbors must be used to all kind of weird shit Tim :))

Overcast app – cool thing for podcast geeks. Saves time and lets you learn faster. Thanks!

Something interesting about probiotics:

“In reality, yogurt by definition has to have two strains of bacteria—Lactobacillus bulgaricus and

Streptococcus thermophilus—to create the yogurt. However these strains do not pass the gastrointestinal tract intact.

They are destroyed by the acidity of the stomach and the enzymes of the pancreas, so nothing reaches the colon and

it’s not beneficial. However, some yogurts are now enriched with other live bacteria of different strains.

Some of them indeed include strains that survive the passage through the intestinal tract and then can be beneficial,

and some make that claim but they don’t, and it’s hard for the general public to discriminate.”

What’s the name of that guy again, who did audio book? With weird art work on the cover?

Tim I have question that comes from my high school rasslin days & thought you’re the perfect person to answer this. Not sure if you ever saw something like this, but I recall walking in to the weigh in of my first major tourney and seeing at least 5 guys, butt naked doing head/hand stands against the wall. I was told they didn’t make weight but were really close. After about 5 mins or so, I then recall the fat weigh in guy (always seemed to be a fat dude doing weigh ins) yell out to one of the dudes, who would run to the scale, exhale all the air possible and step on the scale and at least some of them made weight. It has always truly baffled me. But I saw it done with some regularity over the years as a competitor and then later as a coach. I thought perhaps with your penchant for self experiment, access to scientist, etc. it would be interesting for you to answer – and would probably lead to all kinds of other conversations about anatomy, physiology, physics, etc.. Either way, keep the podcast coming – and wish you the best.

Tim…thanks so much for the show! Its my favorit show man. You mentioned in the show that a keto diet was boring…did you k ow that there is a natural exogenous ketone supplement now on the market? Very fun show. Some random thoughts: On longevity, do the Okinawa know that having dogs may increase their longevity?, Regarding dogs, you may be able to get your dog DNA tested quite easily if you don’t pick up after them per program in NJ where dog poop being tested to match owners who don’t do their dodo diligence. I like the kava bar idea, and given that animals can exhibit some compulsive/anxiety behaviors perhaps this place can be pet friendly. There is an interesting TED talk on animal OCD http://www.ted.com/talks/laurel_braitman_depressed_dogs_cats_with_ocd_what_animal_madness_means_for_us_humans/transcript, , which underlies my belief that when you decide to have a pet – you have a responsiblity to make sure that you provide them with a caring and stimulating environment. Given that I am so happy for you, Tim and your new puppy! . Was there a Seinfield episode where George tried used that dolphin clicking technique on his friends? Is there an app for that? perhaps an app that goes in completely opposite direction then the one that takes out pauses in podcasts but makes people pause or stop talking completely. Hmmmm, maybe I should stop now, Sorry I digress, so in answering your question, I would like to see same things for next episodes – have fun, drink, and share. Cheers. (You can share my link if you pick my response, but I will need to take rain check on it)

Awe yea new Random Show. This was a good one.

For anybody interested in a better book on the Okinawan traditional diet than the one Kevin mentioned, Blue Zones by Dan Buettner is the original source for discussion on the longevity stuff.

And you can get the Okinawan sweet potatoes (supposedly a nutritional powerhouse) in the continental states at Japanese supermarkets, but they come from Hawaii and thus have been zapped with radiation for pest control reasons. You can also get (non-irradiated) bitter melon in the same markets, which is also supposedly a nutritional powerhouse but ranks somewhere between “dandelion stems sauteed in burnt espresso” and “overripe mustard greens dipped in a dirty martini” on the whiskey-face scale. Frying it in coconut oil helps, though. I’m actually curious if there might be a synergy between the potatoes and the melon, given bitter melon’s rep for improving blood sugar.

In other news, “Greek Yogurt Lab” sounds like a great name for an experimental techno label.

Love the show guys and you’re right, the Tiki Toss game is so fun. We have one set up outside on a tree which everyone gravitates to during parties and we have one inside the kids room. It’s surprisingly addicting, but it’s great for their hand/eye coordination.

PS we’re in a drought so you’re doing a small part for the environment peeing outside instead of flushing so thank you for your service!

This was so much fun. Fun and informative. Wine brings out that great sense of humor in you.

If you made a conference or meet-up kind of event here in NYC, I would certainly buy a ticket. Otherwise, I just hope to come across with you on the street or in a bar while I am out doing one of my long photo-walks.

The way you talk about your dog proves again how genuine you are. She is not just a “pet”. She is your friend and family. I’ve a long history with dogs and rescue community. I had a greyhound for 6 years (I had fostered puppies and adult dogs before him and while I had him). He had a fb page, he was the pioneering anti-race advocate. Of course I did all the talking on his name, I even developed a special vocabulary, which sounded really funny, cute and unique. In his page, I raised a lot of $ for some dogs’ surgery in the USA and for the rescue of greyhounds in Argentina. Because of the currency, the $ I raised here saved many dogs in Argentina. My dog Buddy was voted one of the 50 dogs changing the world in a popular dog magazine and he got published. I wrote some moving rescue quotes and they were shared tens of thousands of times in social media. Interestingly, the more I accomplished the more people started hating me. Because I genuinely wanted to help and didn’t conform with many other folks who were in it for some kind of personal gain. Humans just can’t handle their huge egos. As Charles M. Schultz said “All his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however he failed. For after all, he was only human. He wasn’t a dog.” We may be mentally superior, but morally inferior to all non-human animals. (I am not vegan btw)

So, when I see a person who loves his dog sincerely I know it. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from you, because you are a philosopher. All the good writers, musicians, artists and thinkers in history had some deep connection with animals. They had cats or dogs (mostly cats). I see you more like a philosopher than a writer, since you don’t conform with the society and you follow your own route.

Anyways, I hope we get to see more random shows. Watching and listening is more fun than just listening for some reason. Maybe it is because we can see your expression when you do the accents. haha! So funny.

Have a great weekend! xx

If you still looking for a watch I’d take look at the Casio G-Shocks, I recommend the GA100-1A1.

“The Casio Men’s G-SHOCK – The GA 100-1A1 Military Series Watch in Black is a military style timepiece with a sleek, modern and all black design. The combination of black dial and black stainless steel bracelet gives the bold and masculine personality of this timepiece. This Casio watch is shock resistant and it comes with luminous, backlight and stop watch features.”

The alarms, countdown timer and chronometer are very useful.
