The Land Rush: 48 Hours to Claim $4,000,000 in Prizes

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PROMOTION IS OVER. THANKS!

Have you ever gone on safari in Africa?

Been trained by world champions?

Crossed the Atlantic on a 119-foot schooner?

Taken a private tour of an Indian archipelago, complete with tigers, crocodiles, and… Miss India?

Now you can. Or… if you simply want thousands of dollars of cutting-edge gadgets, you can have those, too.

Welcome to “The Land Rush,” intended to be the largest book promotion in history…

The goal of this post is to offer the prizes of a lifetime, and to help The 4-Hour Body beat The Guinness Book of World Records on The New York Times bestseller list. Every package is worth at least twice the cost of the books, often up to 10x. More than $4,000,000 in prizes are up for grabs.

Every year, Guinness owns the NY Times list the week of 12/14. This year, I want that to change.

This is THE promotion for the book, and it will not be repeated. Pub day will not offer anything better. My World Series starts now.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

– For the NY Times, the book bonuses can only apply to HARDCOVER copies shipped to US addresses. Sorry!

– Copies of the new book will all ship starting 12/14. All bonuses will be delivered the week of 12/14 (digital) or the week of 12/21 (non-book physical goods).

– For the Barnes and Noble signed copies, it says “Signed Edition” on the “Overview” tab of the page.

– If you don’t need all of the books you buy, I am happy to donate the remainder to a worthwhile organization (library, school, company, event, etc.) on your behalf.

This giveaway lasts exactly 48 hours and ends at midnight on Sunday. It’s strictly first come, first served, and “limited to 5 spots” means the sixth person doesn’t get it.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PROMOTION AND THE CONTEST ARE OVER. THANKS!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Grab what you can!

Ready? Set? Go.

Tim, Congrats on NYT #1. Please tell me that there has been some technical difficulties with getting the bonus items out. I have yet to receive any follow after completing the initial receipt submission within the designated time.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your comment. There have been some tech difficulties, mostly with the digital delivery, surprisingly, but we’re getting them out to the remaining few. I’ll also send your comment to my assistant, Charlie.

More soon!

Holy Frijoles! How is possible to get a response in less time then

it took me to open the box from Amazon that The 4 Hour Body arrived in. It’s a Christmas miracle. Now I have to purchase a few more copies to keep you on top of NYT Bestsellers. Congrats again to you and your team. Really, a true Christmas miracle.

Thanks, so much Tim for doing all of this for everyone. I have received my digital copy of everything and loving them, but I have had no word on any of physical items. The main one being the 5 books (The Harajuku Package) themselves have not arrived. This has mostly to do with the fact that I live in Canada I’m sure as is usual the reason. Because it seems that having things shipped from the US is like sending something to a far off alien world. Something I have come to live with lol and it makes sense most of the time as the majority of retailers (excluding the big guns like amazon or apple) don’t often ship to Canada. It is most likely just another technical difficulty which is causing the delay of deliveries or notice and I am cool with the wait. Just wanted to hear what the status was or if there is anyway to know what has been sent and where it is like the copies of the books.

Thanks again and congrats on hitting #1 NYT, knew you would 🙂

Holy frijoles! How is it possible to get a response in less time then it took to open the box that The 4 Hour Body came in from Amazon. Now I have to go out and purchase a few more copies to keep you on the NYT list. It’s a true Christmas miracle!!! Congrats again to you and your team! No lie, a true Christmas miracle.

Well, now I’m kind of wishing I’d been reading this blog back at this point.

How do I get my hands on this mysterious “slow-carb cookbook”? I’m getting dominated by my inability to find a slow-carb specific cookbook.

Cheers,

Danny

Hey Tim-

Sorry to contact you here so late but i haven’t been able to receive the bonus material. I purchased 4 hour body from amazon on 12/10/10 and uploaded the receipt to the form you provided. I never received any of the bonus material and was wondering if its still possible to get these?

I love your work and have purchased multiple copies of both books to give to my family and friends over the past couple years. 4HWW is a perfect graduation gift, by the way!

Thanks and keep up the good work!!

Link exchange is nothing else however it is simply placing the other person’s weblog link on your page at suitable place and other person will also do similar in support of you.|

Tim…two quick questions:

1) Did you have someone manually reviewing those form submissions for receipts on Wufoo, or did you just kind of “trust” and an autoreply or thank you page with the bonuses?

2) Have you written anywhere how exactly you structured the Eventbrite program for bigger giveaways? Tough for me to elucidate now that event has ended. Happy to pay for your time to hop on the horn about it if you have 5 minutes.

My friend wants to help someone publish a book so o was referring you, Tim. Had no idea you went this balls to the wall with it. Really curious what all out of this massive list you ended up having to commit yourself to. For example, did you have a random person stay with you in sf for two days? Did the miss India trip happen? Did you talk to someone on Skype for an hour? If so, what type of discussion? Just wondering. It’s fuckin brilliant tho. Notably it worked.

Best regards,

Lucy
