I have been working on an invention with automatically generates ad text for Google AdWords and related Paid Search systems, and I figured it would be cool to test it on you, since you claim to be a human guinea pig ;-). I’ve been working all night on those ads, and I’m happy to say that I’ve just got all 10,000 loaded into my Google AdWords account, and they should be running live in a bit. I’m a student and don’t have a huge budget to run the ads, but I’ve allocated a little over $100 for this campaign. If you are interested, I can guide you through how to upload them into your own account, which I’m sure would be better funded and make a much bigger impact.
Either way, congratulations on the new book, I can’t wait to read it! I’m debating if I want to order 1 copy, 30, or 1000 (if only I had $16k lying around…). Your first book really did change my perspective on life, and I’m confident your second will be just as big of a hit.
I’m sorry if those posts sounded a bit spammy, but I literally didn’t sleep last night while working on it, so I wasn’t as eloquent as I might have been. Anyway, a quick update: the ads I posted to AdWords have collectively run over 15,000 impressions. I’ll have to wait a day to see the conversion rates, but I’ll let you know tomorrow how many books people purchased through them.

Read the book and absolutely loved it. THANK YOU for the signed copy. Yes, I know I should only read 150 pages or so but I’m one of those strange people that start on page 1 and don’t quit til the last one.
I lost a bit over 30 pounds by following the low carb diet in 2 months. Can not wait to see how it will work in conjunction with ice water and cold showers. Dumb question: I cycle a lot and was wondering if you think it would make a difference wearing just a regular cycling jersey vs. under armor plus a thick winter jerseys for fat burning or does it create health risks in that it’s to cold?

The thing is your promotion runs on a December weekend, which means Filipinos are out of their homes and offices doing Christmas shoppping in malls and shopping centers (We have a shopping mentality: everyone and everything are in countless malls mostly located in a small area that is Metro Manila). I’d love to sell your book on the streets and shopping centers a la-Apprentice, but it wouldn’t be very effective and efficient.
So I thought of holding a running event. (Disclaimer: I haven’t done this yet, but I’m thinking this is how I could sell the 30 books I bought.)
Running is the “in” thing in Manila these days. Weekend warriors make a career joining these running events. Various products and magazines have sprouted overnight to cater to this industry.
The following is a list of possibilities that we can do.
We can include 4-H Body as one of the freebies from sponsors as participants register, or as one of the prizes of finishers or winners. We can also hand a custom-made singlet / jersey with 4-H Body design upon registration.
We can get sponsors, magazines (mens health, as well as mma and ufc mags as some mma peeps also run in these events), and advertising in the mix to promote the book.
If no one gets the Superhuman Showcase #3 (running with Marshall Ulrich), we can award that as competition first prize, or as grand prize in a raffle.
Then if you choose me to be a winner, I’d like to win Superhuman Showcase #1 (learning and hanging out with Tim Ferriss). But instead of spending time in San Francisco, you can come here to appear at the running event. I guess hanging out here in the Philippines can really be cheaper. And yes, it’s a chance for you to visit the land of beaches, friendly and hospitable people, yummy food, fantastic dive spots, and hardworking virtual assistants.
Obviously, this won’t get you more book purchases for 12/14. But this is for next time. Lots of upside. Game?

With limited time to enter this contest, I’ve put the wheels in motion but will probably not know the outcome immediately.
I pitched an idea to the EVP of Programming at HSN (Home Shopping Network) to have a one-day event on our air and website featuring a special configuration including both books as our Today’s Special. Other brands on the day would include Tony Little, inventor Joy Mangano, Lisa Price (who developed the Carol’s Daughter brand of bath and body products out of her kitchen in Harlem) and the winners of HSN’s recent reality show competition TLC’s Homemade Millionaire.
Today’s Special are the biggest volume item on the day, airing around 8 times in 24 hours. Quantities could hit 50,000. For this to happen, the EVP (who I report to indirectly) would have to really buy into the idea. As I said, I know he’s a fan of Tim’s. There would need to be an agreement between HSN and Tim, and Tim would need to come to HSN to be the on-air guest. The pricing and configuration would need to be compelling for our customers.
Alternately, I suggested that we feature the book/configuration as an exclusive “online only” TS, positioning it as a great gift for the holidays. This could be accomplished much easier, but would lack the on-air component with Tim as a guest.
Notes: One recent brand sold 60,000 units in 6 hours. Another brand sold $1 million in product in just 4 hours. Another did $4.5 million in 16 hours. These are just the easily available stats from recent news releases.

Received my signed copy of the book this week from the Eben interview last year from the promotion of the revised 4HWW.
This book is AWESOME! I have been reading it everyday since I received it. The ab exercises are awesome. On leg night the other night, I implemented the 5/5 cadence on squats and did a superset with leg extensions using the same cadence. Same for the stiff leg dead lift/leg curl sets. Going to buy my stuff for the T Handle today. Implementing the icebaths…not looking forward to that.

The Uberman: Full body testing tim i love to see a blog post about this in the future. im always interested in this but at this time 10k books is a little out of my range lol.
When I first saw the 30 books offer I was pretty pumped – an awesome deal, and it included a few things I wanted anyway, making it even sweeter. Then I hesitated and decided to think it over for a while. I mean, it’s still almost $500!
But then it hit me: Just in the “Reversing Permanent Injuries” chapter, learning from Tim’s experience has easily saved me over $480 in wasted medical costs! That did it, I immediately ordered my 30 copies! 🙂

great idea and execution of your book promo! I read a comment above about making this promotion EPIC… The video content you already have or can crank out in short order can already be put out on national TV with the rest of the infomercials currently floating out there (i.e., p90x, etc.)…
Did you know google can make that available to you at a reasonable price? Here’s a description from their website:

It gave me a confirmation screen so I assumed it went through, but I just checked my email again (batch processing it, as per your previous advice) and I never received a confirmation email from you for the form submit.

I bought the Four Hour Body this morning as part of your giveaway but when I tried to print the form it gave me the message “This Form Cannot Be Viewed By The Public”. The email said the offer expired in 72 hours, but I received the email not quite three days ago? ( technically the email is stamped that I received it at 10:45am on Friday and I placed my order by 10:40 Monday morning) Can you let me know why it expired earlier or how if I can still qualify?

Thanks for fixing the “Wufoo Form offer” last night after it was down for a while. I was able to finally submit the screen shot of the receipt after you extended the wufoo offer to last until the end of the “Land Rush” expiration.
Not sure if I was supposed to receive an e-mail confirmation or not. I imagine later in the week some e-mail will be sent or an announcement posted on the blog regarding the bonuses will be posted.

I realize trying to get your attention is difficult because everyone is trying so this will be my first of many attempts.
To start, I’ve got a very close relative on the Forbes 400. I’m not saying that for any other reason than to let you know, that if I think it’s necessary to call her to borrow some money I will.
Having said that, your 48 Hour Giveaway was genius. Unfortunately, I missed it. Your Uberman… sounds amazing… I bet you got tons of emails from people trying to strike deals and figure out if anyone had actually done it. I’m proposing a twist if you’re game. If I can raise the $160,000 and buy your books, my buddy Adam and I want to take the profits, and travel with you, to a third world country and spend 2 weeks or however long we decide it will take to save a village or some poor community. Let’s build something useful or find clean water. Our passion is helping others and we’re currently building a start-up right now (thanks to 4HWW) in hopes we can generate enough monthly income to continue to travel the world and help those who didn’t get the same start we did in life.
Maybe this could help jump start things or at least, be something way different than your readers have ever suggested to you. By the way, just a heads up.
Myself and a couple of my friends purchased your 4HB book on a related offer from Noah at APPSUMO.
Some of their add-ons and bonus offers were not delivered under the same terms described during pre-purchase. Also, they did not grant referrals credits, as promised, after e-mailing their offer to others who purchased your book in conjunction with their offer.
Their customer service was tardy and dismissive of issues raised after the fact and never resolved them. I hope they at least ship the book orders in a timely manner.
Good to keep in mind when working closely with others cross marketing your book and not living up to promises and claims on their site. Just FYI.

Noah sent an e-mail last night offering to remedy the situation after you interceded. He and AppSumo were giving us the run around and stopped replying to our inquiry until you and the 4HB followed up.
Always good to keep the cross-marketers and affiliates sharp and on their toes regarding good customer service, online promo offer/bonus follow through and referral or affiliate commissions.
I’ll respond to them and see if they do what they they again committed to doing and delivering.

I am waiting expectantly for my copy of the book. I will be putting your methods to the test and vlogging about my results via youtube and my website set up just for that. I am 5’10’’, weigh about 190lbs, have about 14% body fat, and spend most of my day sitting… my life is quite sedentary at the moment. I use to be a gym junkie and was in to body building for a while, but that is in the distant past. As I will be putting your book to the test I thought I would ask for your input. What part of your book would you recommend implementing first?

What is the value to the vendors? If the book sells for full retail it is $27.00 at 30 books that is $810 after the publisher gets their cut hardly enough to kick back to the product companies so they must be giving them away as promotion costs.
Example sunglasses assuming a double and double to retail at $290 their cost for 100 shades would be $7250! They would have to then sell at 20% net profit about $36K to new customers or repeat business.
Who else has ideas on how this makes sense to the companies offering up freebies?
I love the idea just trying to understand how to explain the value to potential vendors.

I hope it’s ok to write here about the book itself. I care for my weight for years in order to stay in the same weight class in TKD. But since a few month I stick to your proposed low-carb high protein diet. Combined with Coffee, Cold Shower, exeption day, mini-pre-binge-workout alone (I did those accidentially anyway 🙂 ) my weight reacts like crazy. I can loose up to a pound a day (till a certain minimum off course) and after the exeption day I gain about a pound (maybe only water). I can litteraly hit the weight I want. I can go from the sub 140 pound class to a well trained over 160 pound class in no time. Your methods really rock !
As a physicist I like the high amount of scientific information. Tiny critique: The casual stories (e.g. Backstage at the concert) seem uneccessary and are not the kind of stuff I want to read. But maybe this is just the american style, which is somtimes awesome and I really enjoy in Feynman Lectures.

Loving the book so far. Got the advanced signed copy and just devouring it. About 200-300 pages in. I ordered the 5 books during the Land Rush and have not heard any word from Evernote or Dailyburn as of yet for the subscriptions. Just wondering if this is to be expected and I should probably hear from them after the holidays, as I understand A LOT of people wanted to get in on the incredible action of getting the books. I have received all other digital material included with the 5 book package and I believe 1 of the physical packages has been sent.
Lastly when should we expect to see the book orders come in and have you already had the 1 hour Q&A Conference call included with the packages?
